Latinx Graduation 2017
May 18 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Thursday, May 18th, 6:30-9pm – Presented by Latino Community Affairs agency in the Multicultural Engagement Center. Registration and more information online!
Presented by Latino Community Affairs, Latinx Graduation is a one-of-a-kind event in which we emphasize that graduation is not meant just for the student, but for their loved ones as well. This ceremony was created by the students, for the students. As a Latino community at The University of Texas at Austin, we wanted a space to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments, successes, and achievements of the Latino Class.
Latinx Graduation is celebrated in both Spanish and English. The graduating student has the privilege of being accompanied by two loved ones and having a short personal statement read as they walk across the stage. Graduates will receive a serape sash and gifts symbolizing the accomplishments of the Latino Community at the university. Gifts include a commemorative champagne glass, longhorn lapel pin, graduation certificate, and access to the reception after the ceremony.
