Federal Student Aid, an office of the U.S. Department of Education, ensures that all eligible individuals can benefit from federally funded financial assistance for education beyond high school. Be sure to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for financial aid.

Scholarships

Investing in higher education is a big commitment. Now more than ever, it’s important to consider smarter paths to affording a college degree. The University of Texas at Austin is nationally recognized as one of the best values for money in higher education. Generous alumni, corporations and friends of the department also provide millions in annual scholarships to help students reach graduation without such a hefty price tag.

Future Students

Most scholarships awarded to incoming first-year students are merit-based and supported by the Engineering Honors Program, directed by the Cockrell School of Engineering. Incoming first-year students should visit the Engineering Honors Program webpage for application information.

Transfer and Continuing Students

The Cockrell School of Engineering does not offer scholarships to incoming transfer students or former students applying for readmission, known as continuing students. However, these types of students can get funding by completing the UT Continuing & Transfer Scholarships Application. Once enrolled in engineering, students can apply for assistance using the Engineering Scholarship Application for the following academic year.
