The Green Award, formerly Greenman, initiated by the GHGT Conference Series predecessor – International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Removal (ICCDR), recognizes individuals who have had made a significant contribution to the field of CO2 capture, storage and utilization.

Rochelle and his team oversee the Texas Carbon Management Program (TxCMP) at the University of Texas at Austin. The research program focuses on carbon capture from coal and natural gas power plant flue gas to help mitigate anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. The program includes Ph.D. students, 1 faculty, 1 Ph.D. professional, 1 staff chemist and 3 visiting researchers working on solvent management, system modeling to reduce capital costs, and pilot plant testing.

GHGT is the premier international conference on greenhouse gas reduction technologies, with a specific focus on carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). The GHGT conference series is at the forefront of advancing low-carbon solutions to combat climate change. The GHGT-17 event invited researchers, industry leaders, government officials, and business partners from around the world to explore cutting-edge technology, innovation, and greenhouse gas mitigation strategies.
